Each piece of furniture is protected using multiple layers of high-quality natural hardwax oil. This creates a protective layer which protects the wood from wear, water, and stains. Our hardwax oil is food grade.

No, unfortunately, this is not a service that we offer. Though, ‘unfortunately’ is the wrong word here, because, of course, we do everything with conscience. Regalia creates tables and other furniture 100% out of reclaimed wood. We use reclaimed wood to line our walls, and to make our countertops. Why is this important to us, well for a few reasons... First and foremost, it is our brand. We do not cheat, and we do not pretend. We are not an imitation. We want to be real, natural and authentic. And we want the same for the things we produce. Why should they imitate something that they are not, why should they be just a copy? A table made from reclaimed wood, with a countertop which is... artificially aged? Somethings not right here. And that’s the whole idea, why make something worse when we can make something better? Secondly, we come back to the topic of the environment. The wood we use is reclaimed, it is being given a second life. The products we make do not require us to cut down new trees, we don’t give new wood “character” through the use of chemicals. We take wood as it is, we use its advantages over new wood because it is exactly that, the age, the history, and what the piece of wood has been through throughout its lifetime, that gives it its uniqueness, character, and style.

We’re not trying to say that we have anything against furniture made from new wood. Wood in general is a renewable resource, and it's very good that it's used to make furniture. However, only 10% of reclaimed wood is reused. So if we have such a large pool of renewable new wood with which we can make new furniture, why would we make the new wood look like the old wood, as opposed to actually using old wood? Lastly, The problem also lies in technical issues. Old wood and new wood do not have that much in common. Why is all this so important? Well, old wood not only holds a piece of history, but it is also Naturally hardened by time and weather. Since the board has already withstood rains and storms, heat and cold and nights and days, why wouldn’t you make that a feature of the table, cabinet or basin stand? New wood is good enough! Reclaimed wood...? Unlimited potential. There is an abundance of reclaimed wood out there. Yet again, too little of it is used. Why? Why are reclaimed wood products not made or sold by large companies and chain stores? Limited amount of material, difficulty in obtaining it. Of course. However, the main reason is very simple. It's about the profits. It sounds brutal, but it's about money. Preparing old wood for use requires time. AND time is money. It is the same when it comes to skills. Professionals do a good job, but they Cost a lot. In most cases, they cannot be replaced by a machine. And there are a multitude of tasks along the way that require skilled professionals: cleaning, drying, de-nailing or hand waxing. In our case, most of these processes are done entirely by hand, and that affects material processing costs. The truth is that preparing the wood for production takes as much time as the production itself. That's the main issue; Wood obtained from the demolition of an old barn or house does not become new furniture right away. We have to prepare reclaimed wood, dry it (to remove any pests), clean it, and only then can we create from it something new, giving the wood new life. That's it in a nutshell. Of course, we carry out each process in such a way as not to destroy the years of history that gives the wood its character. But that's another story. We simply do not like pretending that something is anything other than what it is. The truth is beautiful. Like furniture made of old wood.

Bathrooms usually have a lot of moisture, hence the concern about whether the wood will swell or warp under the influence of water and steam. Our answer, is YES, without a doubt. The quality of the wood recovered from the demolition of old houses is incomparably higher than young wood. Our reclaimed wood is resistant to water and moisture because for years it has existed as a beam or a board exposed to the elements. We also further protect the wood by using natural hardwax oils to coat furniture thanks to which, the wood can still breathe, but does

not absorb moisture. That is why we recommend both countertops and furniture made of reclaimed wood for the bathroom.

We only use recycled wood. This wood most often comes from renovations of historic churches or castles. It's also wood from the demolition of old structures that could not be saved, but also from an old mill or a road made of five-meter beams. It is a beautiful resource, even though it takes a lot of cleaning and drying, even taking a few months. But then something beautiful comes out of it. This forgotten wood can live again. Generally, the youngest wood we obtain comes from pre-war buildings or slightly older, from the 1940s. However, most of our wood is 100 years old or more. The oldest specimens we use are 200 and 300 years old. Our company does not stand by artificial ageing processes. We only use reclaimed materials, the quality of which we assure to be the highest.

Everything needs care and attention to make it last longer. Reclaimed brick is no exception. To look great, it needs proper impregnation. We recommend wax-based products that are 95% biodegradable and therefore harmless to the environment. Depending on what end result you want to achieve, we recommend: PROTECTGUARD WL-MAT Protects all porous construction materials: natural stone, terracotta, brick, concrete, cement, and sandstone. Protection against stains and dirt; the surface changes

appearance; wet effect, for floors, can be applied to walls, bringing out the colour One application protects surfaces against air pollution, fats, water, acid rain and industrial pollution. PROTECTGUARD WL - SEMI-GLOSS Protects all porous building materials: natural stone, cement, pavement, concrete, terracotta, and brick. Protects against water, oils and all other types of dirt. FOR BATHROOM AND LIVING ROOM - IMPERGUARD SF For the protection of porous masonry and façades such as natural stone, concrete, plaster, bricks. Hydrophobic and anti-dust coating; the surface does not change colour after impregnation. Recommended for impregnation of walls in the bathroom, living room, bedroom and hall. FOR THE KITCHEN - PROTECTGUARD INVISIBLE For the protection of porous building materials: natural and synthetic stone, concrete, terracotta, plaster, brick. We use only original reclaimed wood to make our products. We do not age young wood, because it would be contrary to our beliefs about the value of recycled materials. We do everything possible to assure your furniture uses as much reclaimed metal as possible. If we can't use reclaimed accessories, we make them ourselves from reclaimed metal (except for modern internal hinges and guides). Properly cared for Regalia furniture outlive us all. The wood harvested in the past has an incomparably higher quality and durability than commonly used industrial wood or furniture boards, and additionally, nature and history have hardened them. The Hardwax-oils we recommend also give the wood further protection and their regular use is the only condition that we have for maintaining our 10-year warranty.

Reclaimed Regalia wall boards will look great in any room: living room, bedroom or bathroom. Boards in light brown and silver grey visually enlarge the room, so we recommend their choice for smaller rooms, whereas dark boards could make the room look cramped. Panelling made of old boards in Darker shades look best in spacious halls or large rooms. How to assemble Regalia boards on a slat construction. Before you start installing the Regalia wall boards, we recommend leaving them where they are to be installed for 10-14 days. If you don't have this much time, we recommend that the boards be unwrapped from the packaging foil and left for at least a few days before they are installed.

The first stage, i.e. the assembly of the load-bearing structure. a) wooden slats are to be attached to the wall perpendicularly to the direction of the boards b) the minimum number of slats is 2, but remember that the denser the slats, the more solid and durable the panelling will be. The minimum recommended distance between the slats is 30 cm c) the slats must be dry d) the skirting boards can be fixed with pins or glued to the wall with assembly glue e) the minimum recommended thickness of the slats is 2 cm, although it is best to use 3 cm thick slats. The second stage, i.e. assembly of Regalia boards with an overlap. The boards can be attached to the slats in 3 ways depending on what effect we want obtain 1. The most popular method is fixing with nails. You should start with nailing the bottom board at an angle by packing out the bottom to create the necessary angle; then we attach the next board overlapping the first. The nails are left visible, which gives a raw visual effect 2. For people who prefer the nails not to be visible, we recommend using pins, i.e. nails without heads. The stick goes deeper and is invisible. 3. The boards can also be fixed with wood screws. The bottom board is fixed at an angle as before but this time using screws as opposed to nails. The next board is then nailed with a pin if we do not want the screw to be visible. The third stage, i.e. laying the finishing strips. If the panelling is not laid from wall to wall, the finishing strips are made of the same boards that were laid on the wall. Glueing Regalia wall boards. The second method of mounting Regalia wall boards is to glue them directly to the wall. For this, the wall must be even and the length of the boards should not exceed 180 cm. Before glueing, carefully clean the surface of the wall and make sure it is dry. Then the wall should be primed, choosing a primer suitable for the adhesive used and the type of material the wall is made of . Protecting Regalia wall panelling. Regalia wall panelling can be treated with oil or hardwax oil after installation. We do not recommend varnishing, because the varnish seals the surface meaning that the wood cannot breathe. If installed in the living room or bedroom, oiling or waxing the wooden panelling is not necessary, we recommend such protection in rooms where the boards are exposed to grease or water, i.e. in the kitchen and bathroom. Why is it a good idea to panel your walls? Wooden cladding has many advantages. Wood makes for a warmer interior - not only visually,

but also physically. Wood is also a great soundproofing material. Reclaimed Regalia boards are also an exceptionally durable material. For a hundred years, they worked as external walls of a house, and their natural impregnation was rain, wind and sun. Such boards placed on the wall of your living room, bedroom or hall, will last another hundred years captivating you with its beauty. These days it’s a known fact that cladding walls with wood makes for a unique effect. However, it is worth remembering that when installing Regalia boards in your home, you are participating in something unusual and unique – you introduce into your own home a piece of history that you can touch and feel. A house with Regalia wall panelling is a house with a soul.

Caring for reclaimed wood furniture, although daunting, is very simple, however, very important in preserving its beauty. See step-by-step how you can do it yourself. Hand-waxing Regalia furniture is a fully natural and durable solution. 1. You need a soft cotton cloth and hardwax oil. You can find all this in your Regalia care package. 2. Wipe the wooden surface with a damp cloth, preferably cotton, before applying the care product. 3. Apply the hardwax oil to the cloth. Remember to keep it clean before every use. 4. Rub the hardwax oil into the wood with circular movements (along the grain). You can use a brush to reach hard-to-reach places. It’s important to remember that hardwax oil products protect reclaimed wood against various types of oil, wine or tea stains. We recommend using Hardwax oils recommended by us. Other preparations may adversely affect the wood surface. 5. Wait a moment for the wood to absorb the care agent. 6. And that's it. It truly is simple. Remember, regularity is important. Repeat the care process every 3-6 months. Table tops, bathroom or kitchen countertops require more frequent care. Furniture such as a chest of drawers or a bed made of reclaimed wood requires less frequent care. Take care of your reclaimed wood and it will last forever!
